Collection: Jonathan Lee Horne Memorial Music Fund

On the night of January 2nd, our close friend and coworker Jonathan Lee Horne passed away after a brief but severe battle with cancer. It was only a few weeks back that Jonathan was diagnosed with Stage 4 bone cancer, and it is devastating to lose him so suddenly.

Jonathan joined the JNR family eight years ago as an intern, eventually moving into the roles of Subscriptions Manager and Customer Experience – where he touched many of your lives directly through email correspondence, by including special notes and drawings on your packages, and personally making your lathe-cut 7”s. His excitement about music and all things Joyful Noise was contagious. He was a devoted friend and colleague, who changed the trajectory of this label for the better. We are heartbroken and devastated to see him go, but are also honored to have been a part of his life.

As an avid musician and a lover and collector of guitars, we’d like to honor Jonathan’s memory by spreading music to the future generations of his communities. 100% of the donations to the Jonathan Lee Horne Memorial Music Fund are used to purchase guitars and other musical gear for young and aspiring musicians in the three Indiana cities Jonathan called home: Indianapolis, Bloomington, and Kokomo. You can make a one-time donation or an annual donation below. Thank you for your support and for keeping Jonathan's memory alive.
